Born in 1964, twin brothers Jacques and Laurent Pourcel rapidly made a name for themselves around the globe as the ambassadors of French gastronomy. Mediterranean to the core, these sons and grandsons of wine growers honed a passion for culinary creation in the kitchen of the family home before training with top chefs Michel Bras, Marc Meneau and Pierre Gagnaire. In 1988 they created Le Jardin des Sens restaurant with Olivier Château. Ten years later, Montpellier’s flagship restaurant was awarded its third Michelin star. In 2000 they set out to conquer the world and export their knowledge. Examples of their inventive cuisine soon sprang up in Shanghai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Geneva, Paris and of course… Casablanca! Southern, Mediterranean flavors have remained their essential source of inspiration married with earthy and maritime notes, but the Pourcel brothers’ talent also lies in the ability to play on contrasts: hot and cold, melting and crunchy, sugary and sour, sweet and bitter.
